Resources
Below are a selection of resources I have regularly shared with clients, or that clients have found themselves and shared with me. Whether you and I get to work together or not, I hope you might find something on this page that helps you.
-
Meditations
I have probably recommended Self-Compassion Meditation more often than any other resource. It can help us find a new way to respond to difficult emotions and be kinder with ourselves.
-
Journalling
Some form of journaling, such as Morning Pages, can be a useful way of capturing and reflecting on the nature of our mind. Clients often feel better from externalising their thought process. Writing even just a few sentences about what we are thinking and feeling can bring a similar sense of relief and clarity
-
Sleep
Sleep is often an issue for many people nowadays and can make anything we’re struggling with far more difficult. Employing a few sleep hygiene principles can be incredibly helpful.

Counselling and Theory
My way of working is based on the belief that it is more helpful to understand you from your own perspective than to assign labels or relate the content of your life to abstract theories. Therefore, I will typically focus more on you and your process than introducing concepts or frameworks. However, I have found a lot of the theory and writings that underpin Person-Centred Counselling very helpful in forming my ideas about what it means to be human and understanding myself better. Below are a few excerpts that I found particularly insightful and other book recommendations you may find interesting.
